In this upside-down world
where corruption rules
Is there any light left to be found
but in the afterlife?
In this world turned on its head
little has changed from centuries past
Can hope still exist
except in the release of death?
In a world no longer what it was
and yet always the same
What possibilities may be
in a future yet to come?
Day by day
the end draws near
More and more
it's what we fear
Earth has fallen to chaos
Death reigns above all
Night by night
all grows dark
Little by little
it seems so stark
Disease and starvation spread like fire
War casts its shadow over the land
Less and less
it begins to fade
Bigger and bigger
debts to be paid
Natural disasters claim headlines
All humanity knows is the struggle to live
Nearer and nearer
the end will come
Dimmer and dimmer
all will fade

The storm had ended only an hour ago, leaving the town cast in a hazy twilight in the middle of the afternoon. Mayor Stanley Field stood at the window of his second floor office in the town hall, anxiously watching the road that led into town. He couldnt see the edge of town, he couldnt even see the buildings a block away, but he couldnt help himself from staring in that direction. All the odds said that the ones he was waiting for wouldnt be showing up today, and probably not even tomorrow, but he was hoping. If it had been anyone else who called his town home, perhaps he would have accepted the odds and waited with s

Chapter One
You call this security, Niven? a dumpy man, somewhere in his fifties, demanded in a superior tone. I hired you to keep my son safe, and yet I see only those who work here on a daily basis. If this is your idea of a joke or an attempt at fraud, I can assure you that, should anything happen, you will face a lawsuit that will put your company out of business, without a doubt.
Dont worry, Mr. Crawford, a man, also in his fifties but bearing far more presence, replied with an Irish accent. He placed a heavy emphasis on the title of his employer. I have brought only the best.

Like I've already said, I love R.A. Salvatore's Legend of Drizzt series. I finished book 7 last night and oh my god, I wish I could write that good. One of the main characters died (I didn't even really like him) and I was still sad. He wrote the last few chapters so well that I could just feel the emotional and physical exhaustion of all the main characters. I told my mom about it and she was like 'you're grieving for him' and I'm like 'what?' and she's like 'you're grieving' and I'm like 'wow... I so wish I could write like that...'
It was awesome...
Over the course of the last few weeks, I have gotten insanely busy. Finals are coming up (we've already started them in one of my classes) so there's a lot of last minute studying, trying to make sure everything is up to date and all that jazz. Turns out I've completely and utterly failed spanish and math. Not so surprising considering how they've been going since the beginning of the year.
And on top of that, I have started reading again. The last time I was reading like this was at Cougar Mountain, two years ago. Over the last two or three weeks, I have read the first seven books of the Legend of Drizzt, there's thirteen total. After I fin
